It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Van kedilerinin neslini, orijinal formlarını muhafaza etmek için kurulan bu yer, aynı zamanda Van kedilerinin bakımını yapmakta ve saflıklarını bozmadan kontrollü bir şekilde çiftleştirmektedir. Hiçbir kâr amacı gütmeyen bu kuruluş, kedileri sahiplendirirken de aldıkları paraları yine tesisteki imkanları genişletmek ve kedilere daha iyi bir bakım sağlayabilmek için kullanmaktadır. Bu araştırmada TRT tarafından hazırlanan Van kedileri hakkındaki belgeselden ve geçmiş tarihlerde bu kuruluşla ilgili yayınlanan gazete haberlerinden bilgi toplanmıştır. Ayrıca, Kedi Evi Villasının şu anki müdürü ve Van Yüzüncü Yıl Üniversitesi veterinerlik öğretim görevlisi Prof. Dr. Abdullah Kaya’nın tecrübelerinden ve anlattıklarından yararlanılmıştır. Bu çalışmayla Van Kedi Villasının ilkeleri, hangi sebeplerden kurulduğunun ve neyi amaçladığının daha iyi anlaşılması hedeflenmiştir.Van Kedi Villası (Van Cat Villa) was established in 1992 with the cooperation of Van Yüzüncü Yıl University, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and the governorship, in order to protect the descendants of Van cats, which received national breed registration. This place, which was established to preserve the generation of Van cats in their original forms, also cares for Van cats and reproduces them in a controlled manner without spoiling their purity. This non-profit organization uses the money they receive while adopting cats to expand the facilities at the facility and to provide better care for the cats. In this research, information was gathered from the documentary about the Van cats prepared by TRT (Türkiye Radyo Televizyon Kurumu) and from the newspaper reports about this organization in the past. In addition, the current director of the Van Kedi Villası and Van Yüzüncü Yıl University veterinary lecturer Prof. Dr. Abdullah Kaya's experiences and narratives were used.
