It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Ailenin deneyimlerinden yola çıkılarak Bulgaristan göçmenlerinin Türkiye’ye gelmeden önce Bulgaristan’da yaşadıkları koşullar, maruz kaldıkları baskılar ve onlara uygulanan politikalar, dolayısıyla da göç etme sebepleri anlatılmıştır. Aynı zamanda göçmenlerin Türkiye’ye yerleşme süreçleri ve buradaki yaşantılarından bahsedilmiştir. Konu kapsamında Doğruoğlu ailesi üzerinden Türkiye’de Bulgaristan göçmeni olarak adapte olmanın zorlukları, diğer Bulgar göçmenlerinin deneyimleriyle karşılaştırmalı olarak anlatılmıştır. Ayrıca ailenin yaşadığı sosyo-ekonomik ve psikolojik sorunlara da değinilmiştir.In this research, the migration experience of the Doğruoğlu family who migrated in 1978 from Razgrad, the city of Bulgaria, to Bursa and then Eskişehir was studied. Based upon the experiences of the family; the conditions Turkish immigrants lived in, the pressure they were exposed to, and policies implemented in Bulgaria before they came to Türkiye; therefore their migration reasons were narrated. Additionally, the process of immigrants’ resettlement to Türkiye and their life in Türkiye were mentioned. The hardships of the Doğruoğlu family’s adaptation process in Türkiye were explained and compared with other immigrants’ experiences.
