It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.Includes bibliographical references (pages 16-17).Kütahyalı Ahmet Yakupoğlu resim, müzik, minyatür gibi birçok sanat dalında eser üretmiş bir sanatçıdır. Gerek eğitimi gerekse bilgi birikimi açısından çeşitli yollardan geçmiş ve arkasında bir sanat mirası bırakmıştır. Yakupoğlu’nun eserlerinin temel konusu tabiat olmakla birlikte sanat dışında kültür mirasını ve doğayı korumak için de aktif olarak çalışmıştır. Zaman zaman Kütahya’dan ayrılsa bile son zamanlarında tekrar buraya dönmeyi dileyen ve Kütahya’da “Ahmet Ağabey” olarak adlandırılan Yakupoğlu yakınları üzerinde derin izler bırakmıştır. Bu çalışma Ahmet Yakupoğlu’nun hayatını anlatmak amacıyla yapılmış ve Yakupoğlu’nun özellikle erken yaşamı, sanat mirası ve toplumsal kimliğini ele almaktadır.Ahmet Yakupoğlu, born in Kütahya, is an artist who produces art work like painting, music, and miniature art. He has been through various paths in terms of his education as well as his knowledge and experience, and he has left an art legacy. While Yakupoğlu’s art works’ main theme is beauty of nature, he has actively worked to preserve the cultural heritage and nature. Though he has left Kütahya from time to time, he has wished to come back to Kütahya at his last stages of life, and as Kütahya’s “Ahmet Brother” he has left deep marks on his close ones.
