It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.Includes bibliographical references (page 13).Bu çalışma 1925’te Keçiören'de kurulan kimsesiz ve bakıma muhtaç çocuklara yıllarca ev sahipliği yapan Atatürk Çocuk Yuvası tarihine ışık tutmaktadır. Bu araştırmada kurumun yapılanma sistemi, çocuklarla olan iletişim gibi temel konular ele alınmaktadır. Atatürk Çocuk Yuvası Türkiye Cumhuriyeti tarihindeki en eski kurumlardan biri olup ailesi olmayan çocuklara yuva olma misyonuyla kurulmuştur. Kuruluşundan bu yana binlerce çocuğun psikolojik ve fizyolojik gelişimiyle ilgilenen yuva, değişen hükümetlerle birlikte yeniden düzenlenmiştir. Yönetime geçen her hükümet yuvayı çocuklar için daha iyi bir yer haline getirmeye çabalamış ve yurdun “Sevgi Evleri” projesi uygulanmaya başlanana kadar yuva misyonunu korumuştur. Yurt sistemi yerine gelen ve çocukların 5-6 kişilik evlere dağıtıldığı sevgi evi projesiyle birlikte Atatürk Çocuk Yuvası’nın fonksiyonu değişmiştir. Problemli çocuklar, istismara uğrayan, bağımlı çocuklara ev sahipliği yapmaya başlayan ve onlara özel bakım sağlayan Atatürk Çocuk Yuvası, 2017’den bu yana görevini bu şekilde devam ettirmektedir.The aim of this research is to enlight the history of the Ataturk Orphanage which was constructed in Kecioren at 1925 to become host for those who need famiy and nursing. In this research, basic issues such as the structure of the institution, communication with children have discussed. Atatürk Orphanage is one of the oldest establishment in the republic of Turkey that became a home for children who do not have any healthy family members, or those who do not have any family at all. Since it is established, thousands of children taken cared both physically and psychologically by the orphanage. The regulations of the establishment altered with the changing government. Each government worked hard to make the orphanage better place for the children. The orphanage sustain itself as a home for children in need until the project of “Sevgi Evleri” implemented. After sevgi evleri which means houses that contains 5-6 children instead of dormitory system. After children started to move into these houses, Atatürk orphanage started have different function. Problematic children, those who dependent to drugs or abused or harassed children started to stay in this orphanage where they receive special treatment.
