It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards. Boğaziçi University has been providing education in Physics, one of the fields of natural sciences since the university was founded in 1863 as Robert College. The department of Physics was established in 1963 with the launch of the four-year undergraduate program. Boğaziçi University was one of the first universities to support physicists who did their doctorate abroad to return to Turkey and teach the subject; therefore it has contributed to the development of a research culture in the field of physics. The Physics department has applied Boğaziçi University’s education model based on the principle of raising versatile individuals throughout its history. The department's history has been shaped by the transformation of the university from an American college to a public university and the contributions and works of people in the department. In this research project, the history and value of the department are examined by making use of the books written by the founder of Robert College and people who gave physics education, interviews with people who have both received and given education as academicians in the physics department, and news articles.17 pagesTurkishCreative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlikehttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0/Boğaziçi ÜniversitesiFizikFizik bölümüRobert KolejiBoğaziçi UniversityPhysicsDepartment of physicsRobert CollegeBoğaziçi Fizik Bölümü tarihiStudent ProjectSPB4318
