It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Bu çalışmada, Leyla Erbil'in yaşamının çeşitli yönleri incelenmiş, bir Türk kadın entelektüeli olan Leyla Erbil'in "ayrıksı" portresi, Erbil'in kişisel hayatı, edebi kişiliği ve üretimi, düşünce hayatı ve siyasi tavrı üzerinden okunmaya çalışılmıştır. Leyla Erbil'in yenilikçi karakteri ışığında bir Türk kadın yazarın edebiyat hayatının mücadele hatları, Türkiye'nin tarihsel, sosyal ve kültürel değişimi bağlamında tartışılmıştır. Bu değişim sürecinde Leyla Erbil'in tuttuğu konumun öncü rolünün altı çizilmesi amaçlanmıştır.Leyla Erbil is one of the preeminent female writers of Turkish Literature. In this article, the various aspects of Leyla Erbil's life are examined. The "idiosyncratic" portrait of Leyla Erbil is described through her personal life, literary personality and production, intellectual life, and political attitude. Under the guidance of the innovative character of Leyla Erbil, the signs of the struggle of a Turkish female writer's literary life are discussed in the context of Turkey's historical, social, and cultural change.
