It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Gölcük depremi ve hemen 3 ay sonrasında meydana gelen Düzce depremi, doğal afetler konusunda Türkiye’ye farklı deneyimler yaşattı ve daha fazla önlem alınması gerektiğini gösterdi. Sağlık alanında da çalışanların yaşadığı deneyimlerle oluşan yeni düzenlemeler hayata geçirildi.While the Gölcük Earthquake of 17 August 1999, one of the biggest destructions in Turkey, caused many casualties, it put Turkey in a very difficult economic situation. The Gölcük earthquake and the Düzce earthquake 3 months later gave Turkey different experiences regarding natural disasters and showed that more precautions should be taken.
