It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.Includes bibliographical references (pages 21-22).Tuslog det 4 üssü (Diyojen Üssü) 1952 yılında Sinop’ta açılmıştır. Üssün açılma sebebi radar ile Sovyetler Birliğinin dinlenmesidir. 1992 yılında kapatılana kadar faaliyetlerini sürdürmüştür. Sinop’ta uzun yıllar varlığını sürdürmesi sebebiyle Sinop’ta ekonomik ve kültürel değişimler yaratmıştır. Makalede üste çalışan yabancı personelin günlük yaşamı, profili ve Türkiye’ye gelmeden önceki ön yargıları incelenirken, personelin günlüklerinden ve hafızalarında kalanını aktardıkları blog yazıları kullanılmıştır. Yerli halkın üsle, üsteki personelle ve Sinop’a olan etkisiyle ilgili düşüncelerini almak için üste çalışmış veya o dönemde Sinop’ta yaşamış insanlarla röportaj yapılmıştır. Makalenin en sonunda ise üssün akıbeti aktarılmıştır.Tuslog det 4 station (Diogenes Station) has opened in Sinop, Turkey in 1952. Main purpose of the base was providing intelligence about Soviet Union for the NATO. Until the day it was closed in 1992 the base performed its mission. During its active years, Diogenes Station had affected the local are in economic and cultural ways. This paper argues about the daily routines, general profile and view about Turkey using the blogs written by themselves which reflect their memories and diaries. Second part of the paper uses in person that have been done with locals who lived during that era or worked at the station for telling about the view of Turks on base, its personnel and how did the base affected the province.
