It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.Includes bibliographical references (pages 32-35).İncirlik Hava Üssü, jeopolitik ve stratejik konumundan dolayı Türkiye’nin dış politikalarında her zaman önemli bir silah olmuştur. Bölge üzerinde yapılan anlaşmalar, Türkiye’nin, NATO ve ABD ile ilişkilerinde önemli bir rol oynamıştır. Aynı zamanda, savaş dönemlerinde yapılan iş birlikleri, gizli ya da kamuya açık anlaşmalar da birçok ülkenin kaderini değiştirmiştir. Yakın tarihi boyunca İncirlik Hava Üssü, sadece anlaşmalara değil, krizlere de şahit olmuştur ve yaşanan bu krizlerin sonucunda Türkiye dış politikası da etkilenmiştir. Buradan hareketle, İncirlik Hava Üssü’nün sıradan bir üs olmadığı ve tıpkı bir kara kutu gibi gizemli olayları içinde barındırdığı düşünülmektedir. Bu araştırmanın asıl amacı da üssün önemi bakımından bir farkındalık yaratmaktır.İncirlik Air Base has always been an important weapon in the foreign policy of Turkey, because of its geopolitical and strategic position. The agreements, which were made in the region, played a crucial role in the Turkey’s relationships with USA and NATO. At the same time, during the times of war, cooperation and secret or public agreements have changed the destiny of many countries. İncirlik Air Base witnessed crises as well as the cooperation and as a result of these crises, Turkey's current foreign policy has been affected. Starting from this point of view, it is thought that Incirlik Air Base is not an ordinary base and it hides mysterious events just like a black box.
