It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.Includes bibliographical references (pages 20-21).Gazinolar 1960-1990 yılları arasında Türkiye’nin en önemli eğlence merkezleriydi. çoğunlukla orta kesim ailelerin tercih ettiği gazinolar, toplumun yapısına ve kültürüne doğrudan etki etmişlerdir. Günümüzün ünlü ses sanatçıları ilk sahne deneyimlerini bu gazinolarda yaşamışlardır. Bu gazinoların en bilineni ve önemlisi Fahrettin Aslan’ın sahip olduğu Maksim Gazinosu’dur. Bu çalışmada Maksim Gazinosu tarihi ve Fahrettin Aslan’ın hayatı ele alınmıştır. Maksim Gazinosu’nun ve Fahrettin Aslan’ın Türk müzik tarihine ve topluma etkileri incelenmiştir.Between the years 1960-1990, casinos were the most important entertainment places in Turkey. Although they were mostly preferred by middle-class families, casinos directly affacted social structure, and the Turkish culture. Many Turkish singer who are still known in Turkey, earned their first chance to be on stage in these casinos. The most important and actually the most famous was the Maksim Casino, founded and owned by Fahrettin Aslan.
