It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Bu makale Türkiye’de süngerciliği, sünger ve yatakçılık alanında bu devrimleri sağlayan Yavuz Altop’un yaşamını, Süntaş’ın kuruluşunu ve Yataş’ın kuruluşu ile bugüne kadarki büyüme sürecini anlatmaktadır.This article focuses on the history of sponge-diving in Turkey during its period of growth, with a particular emphasis on the innovations introduced by Yavuz Altop in this profession. In 1976, Altop established Turkey's first sponge factory, becoming a primary pioneer in the country's sponge industry. Through Süntaş and subsequently established Yataş, not only did he contribute significantly to the industrial and economic development of Kayseri but also played a crucial role in the broader sponge and mattress industry throughout Turkey.
