It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.Includes bibliographical references (pages 17-18).Bu makale 90'lı yıllarda Türkiye'ye damga vurmuş, Türkiye'deki ilk büyük sivil itaatsizlik örneği olan Bergama Hareketini ele almaktadır. Bergama'nın Ovacık köyünde yapılacak olan siyanürlü altın madenciliğine karşı sergilenen toplumsal tutum, halkın çevre olaylarına gösterdiği tepkinin hukuksal boyut kazanması ve çıkan kararların 90'lı yılların siyasi atmosferini yansıtır nitelikte olması nedeniyle tarihi bir değer taşımaktadır. TBMM'de dahi yankı bulması ile yöre halkının tepkisi yöresel olmaktan çıkıp Türkiye'nin geneline yayılan bir mesele olmuş ve birçok kuruluş tarafından desteklenmiştir. The civil disobedience displayed against the cyanide gold mining in Ovacık village of Bergama-İzmir has historical value because it reflects the reaction of the people to environmental events to the legal dimension and the political atmosphere of the 90's. Their dispute for possible harmful effects of cyanide gold mining on both environment and human health, launched a struggle which promoted by many companies and corporations.
