It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Türkiye Cumhuriyetinin ilanından 27 yıl sonra siyasetteki tek partili dönem yerini çok partili döneme bırakarak siyasette yeni bir dönem başlamıştır. Bunun sonucunda ise ordunun siyasete müdahale etmeye başlamasıyla askeri ihtilaller ortaya çıkmıştır. Türkiye Cumhuriyetinde 4 farklı askeri ihtilal ve bir çok darbe girişimi olmuştur. Bu darbe girişimlerinden olan 22 Şubat 1962 ve 20 Mayıs 1963 darbe girişimi, Kara Harp okulu Komutanı Kurmay Albay Talat Aydemir öncülüğünde yapılmıştır. Talat Aydemir öncülüğündeki 20 Mayıs 1963 deki başarısız darbe girişimi sırasında Kara Harp Okulunda okuyan öğrencilerden biri olan Tuncay Utku ve diğer harbiyelilerin olay sırasında yaşadıkları ele alınmıştır.The army tradition and the role of the army in the history of Turkey is very impactful. 27 years after the proclamation of the Republic of Turkey, the single-party period in politics was replaced by the multi-party period, and a new era began in politics. As a result, the military began to intervene in politics and military revolutions emerged. There have been 4 different military revolutions and many coup attempts in the Republic of Turkey. The coup attempts of February 22, 1962 and May 20, 1963, which are among these coup attempts, were carried out under the leadership of Staff Colonel Talat Aydemir, Commander of the Turkish Military Academy.
