It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Maarif Vekâletinin eğitim amacıyla yurt dışına gönderdiği öğrenciler arasına girip Fransa’ya gitmiş, Sorbonne Üniversitesi’nde sanat tarihi ve Louvre Arkeoloji Enstitüsü’nde arkeoloji öğrenimi görmüştür. Alacahöyük gibi çeşitli arkeolojik kazı faaliyetlerinde ve Hititlerin sembolü sayılan Güneş Kursu’nun çıkarılmasında görev almıştır. Milliyetçilik akımından etkilenmiştir. Demokrat Parti’den milletvekili seçilmiş, sonrasında Türkiye Köylü Partisi’ni kurmuştur.Remzi Oğuz Arık was mostly engaged in archaeology and was interested in politics; he also wrote a few books too. He was one of the students that were sent abroad through a program that the board of education initiated. He went to France; he studied art history at Sorbonne University and archaeology at Louvre Archeology Institute. He was engaged in various archaeological excavations such as the Alacahöyük excavation, and the excavation of the Hittite sun disk. He was a nationalist.
