It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. İstanbul’da 1976-2007 yılları arasında çıkarttığı albümler ile kariyeri boyunca başa çıkmak zorunda bırakıldığı olaylar incelenecektir. Bu konu, Zerrin Özer hakkında yapılmış araştırmaların sayıca az olması ve hayatı boyunca karşılaştığı trajik olayların aslında erkek egemen Türk Müzik sektöründe pek çok kadın sanatçının karşılaştığı zorluklarla benzerliği sebebi ile araştırmaya değer görülmüştür. Sonuç olarak, bu çalışma Zerrin Özer’in kariyeri ve Türk Müzik sahnesindeki yeri üzerine olacaktırIn this research, the life of Zerrin Özer, who has made a name for herself in the Turkish music scene with pop, arabesque and jazz songs and has maintained her fame until today, will be studied. The albums she released in Istanbul between 1976-2007 and the events she had to deal with throughout her career will be examined. This topic was considered worth investigating due to the scarcity of research on Zerrin Özer and the fact that the tragic events she faced throughout her life are similar to the difficulties faced by many female artists in the male-dominated Turkish music industry.
