It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Bu amaçlar doğrultusunda, Safranbolu ve UNESCO ilişkisinden bahsedildi. Dünya Kültür Mirası Listesine başvurulması, giriş süreci ve bu sürecin sonlanmasıyla birlikte yarattığı etkiler incelendi. Safranbolu’nun yıllara yayılarak ilerleyen bu sürecine odaklanırken kentin tarihi geçmişini incelemenin yararlı olacağı düşünüldü. Bu anlamda kentin, süregelen kültürel birikimine ışık tutan tarihi altyapısından, coğrafyasından ve geçmişten günümüze ev sahipliği yaptığı medeniyetleri nasıl bünyesinde harmanladığından söz edildi. Kenti koruma ihtiyacını doğuran özelliklerinden ve Safranbolu halkının yapısından araştırmamız dahilinde bahsedildi. Aynı zamanda kentin ilçesi konumunda bulunduğu Karabük ili ile dinamikleri ve bu dinamiklerin Safranbolu özelinde etkileri incelendi. Özetle, sürecin Safranbolu halkının hayatına etkisi, turizm sektörünün artan faaliyetlerinin yarattığı olumlu ve olumsuz etkilere değinildi.Theaim of thisresearch is tofocus on Safranbolu'sculturalheritageandtoexaminetheprocess of Safranbolu'sinscription on the UNESCO World HeritageListandtocomprehensivelyexplaintheeffects of thisprocess on Safranbolu. Thecharacteristicsthatgaverisetoprotectthecityandthecharacteristics of inhabitantsaredescribed.Thus, thedynamics of thecitywith Karabük province, wherethecity is located, andtheeffects of thesedynamics on Safranbolu areanalyzed.
