It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.Includes bibliographical references (pages 31-33).Safranbolu Yörük Köyü 650 yıllık tarihe sahip, hem Osmanlı hem Cumhuriyet dönemine tanıklık etmiş gerçek bir Türkmen köyüdür. 1997 yılında gerçek bir Türkmen köyü oluşu ve alışılmış kırsal köy yapısından farklı mimari dokusu sebebiyle korunmaya değer görülmüş ve Kültür ve Turizm Bakanlığı tarafından tescil edilmiştir. Bu dönemden sonra “müze köy” olarak anılmaya başlanmış, köyün tanınırlığı da artmaya başlamış ve turizm potansiyeli de gelişmiştir. Bu araştırmada Safranbolu Yörük Köyü ile ilgili yazılı, görsel kaynaklar ve köyün yerlileri Tuncay Kara, Muhsin Maden ve köy ile ilgili çalışmalar yapmış Prof. Dr. Can Mehmet Hersek’ten alınan bilgilere yer verilmiştir. Yörüklerin kökenleri ve yayılması, Yörük Köyünün kuruluşu, köyün geleneksel yapıları, restorasyon çalışmaları, köyün sosyolojik ve ekonomik gelişimi anlatılmıştır.Safranbolu Yoruk Village is a real Turkmen village with a history of 650 years, witnessing both the Ottoman and the Republic periods. In 1997, it was deemed worthy of protection due to its being a real Turkmen village and its architectural texture different from the usual rural village structure and was registered by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. After this period, it started to be called as "museum village", the recognition of the village started to increase and its tourism potential also developed. In this research, written and usual sources about Yoruk Village and interviews with the local people of the village Tuncay Kara, Muhsin Maden and Prof. Dr. Can Mehmet Hersek who did research about the village have been included.
