It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.Includes bibliographical references (pages 21-25).Batı Trakya Türkleri uzun yıllar hak ihlalleri ve baskı altında yaşamak zorunda bırakılmış ve bu hak ihlallerini demokratik yollardan gündeme getirmek için etkili bir siyasi mücadele sürdürmeye çalışmıştır. Dr. Sadık Ahmet Türk azınlığın davasını sahiplenmiş ve siyasi mücadeleyi daha aktif ve bağımsız bir boyuta taşımıştır. Gerek milletvekilliği ve gerekse sivil yaşamı boyunca hak ihlallerini ulusal ve uluslararası kamuoyunda duyurmaya çalışmıştır. Ancak bu mücadelesini sürdürürken hakkında birçok dava açıldığı, cezalar verildiği ve engellemelere maruz bırakıldığı gözlenmiştir. Bu zorlu mücadelesi sebebiyle ismi adeta Batı Trakya ile özdeşleşen Sadık Ahmet’in şahsiyeti ve mücadelesi Batı Trakya Türklerinin durumunu anlamak noktasında hayati önem taşımaktadır.Western Thrace Turks had to live under violation of their rights and pressure for many years. They have tried to advance a policy in order to direct these rights through democratic means. Dr. Sadık Ahmet embraced the case of the Turkish minority and took the discussion to a more active level. Throughout his deputyship and civil life Sadık Ahmet tried to announce their fairness in the civil world at national and international level. However, while he was continuing this endeavor, he faced many punishments, lawsuits and obstructions.
