As with how art is a reflection of society, culture and history, marbling has its own contributions to the Turkish culture that is seen today. Artists tend to have a deeper insight and understanding of what their work means and how it is valuable. Therefore, this research is centered around one experienced marbling artist, Hikmet Barutçugil, and especially on his views and role in the revival of marbling in Turkey from the 1960s and onwards.
