It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.Includes bibliographical references (pages 13-14).Küçükköy diğer adıyla Yeniçarhion Ayvalık yakınlarında kurulmuş tarihi Fatih Sultan Mehmet’in padişahlık dönemine dayanan bir köydür. Adını Fatih Sultan Mehmet’in yeniçerileri bölgeye yerleştirmesi ile almıştır. Bölgeye 1900’lü yılların başlarında Adalılar, Serezliler ve Boşnaklar göç etmiştir. Çeşitli nedenlerden dolayı Adalılar ve Serezliler köyü terk etmiştir. Günümüzde Küçükköy’de sadece Boşnak halkı yaşamaktadır. Maddi sıkıntılar sebebi ile köyü bir süreliğine terk eden yerel halk, 2015 yılında köyü canlandırmak için bir grup sanatçı tarafından tamamlanan restorasyon işlemlerinin ardından köye geri gelmiştir. Köy günümüzde kültürel çeşitliliği ve sanata olan katkıları ile anılmaktadır.Küçükköy, also known as Yeniçarhion, is a village located near Ayvalık, whose origins date back to the reign of Fatih Sultan Mehmet. The name of the village comes from Ottoman Empire’s soldiers called “yeniçeri” that were emplaced in the village by Fatih Sultan Mehmet. In early 1900’s, “Adalılar”, “Serezliler” and Bosnians immigrated to this region. Because of several reasons, “Adalılar” and “Serezliler” abandoned the village. Nowadays, only Bosnians still live in Küçükköy. Local people who abandoned the village for a period due to economic difficulties, moved back into the village in 2015 after the restorations completed by a group of artists who aimed to revive the village.
