It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.Includes bibliographical references (pages 15-16).Kastamonu'da yer alan İzbeli Çiftliği, 1651'de dönemin Osmanlı Padişahı IV. Mehmet tarafından, tımarlı sipahi yetiştirmeleri hususu ile İzbeli ailesine verilmiştir. 17. Yüzyıldan bu yana özenle korunan çiftlik, günümüzde turistik bir mekân işlevi görmektedir. İzbeli ailesi ve özellikle ailenin kadınları Kurtuluş Savaşı süresince milli mücadelenin kazanılması amacı doğrultusunda önemli adımlar atmışlardır. İzbeli Çiftliği aynı vakitte yüz yıllar öncesinden kalma ve tarihi değeri yüksek eşyalara, belgelere ve fotoğraflara ev sahipliği yapmaktadır. Günümüzde İzbeli Çiftliği, ailenin hayattaki en yaşlı üyesi olan Sabiha İzbeli tarafından işletilmektedir.İzbeli Farm, which is located in the Kastamonu region of Turkey, is a farm that was given to the İzbeli family in order for them to raise and train timariots fort he Ottoman Army. The farm has been protected and preserved since 17th century up until today, and is a touristic attraction in modern day.The İzbeli family and especially the women of the bloodline have contributed greatly to the national struggle during the Turkish Independence War, and have supported Turkish troops via donating Money and clothing while also giving moral support with ceremonies.The İzbeli Farm also accommodates historical heritages, documents and furniture that were left in it for hundreds of years.
