It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Kendisinin aktif bir şekilde oyunculuk yaptığı 12 Mart Darbesi dönemi olayları ve sonrasındaki Türkiye’deki politik çalkalanmalar Halil Ergün’ün oynadığı filmler ile beyazperdeye yansımıştır. Kariyerinin kayda değer bir kısmını bu dönemde oynadığı filmler oluşturmuştur. Ergün, oynadığı filmlerde toplumsal ve siyasi öğeleri sıkça halka aktarmıştır. Günümüzde çalışmalarına devam eden sanatçının hayatı, yaşadığı dönemin sanatsal tarihi açısından teşkil ettiği önem göze alındığında, incelenmeye son derece değerdir. Bu çalışmada, kendisi ile yapılan görüşmeden elde edilen bilgiler, yer aldığı eserlerin incelenmesi ve dönem hakkında öğrenilenler ışığında Halil Ergün’ün biyografisi sunulmaktadır.Halil Ergun is an influential artist who left a mark on Turkish cinema. From 1975 to this day, he has played many roles in movies, plays, and TV series. The movies he acted in depicted the political turmoil in Turkey during and after the 1980 Military Coup. A significant portion of his career has consisted of the films he acted in this period. Ergun conveyed social and political elements in his movies. Given his influence as an artist, the life of Halil Ergün, who still continues to work to this day, has been found to be worth studying.
