It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.Includes bibliographical references (page 19).1917 yılında Çarlık Rusya’nın 1. Dünya Savaşı’na girmesiyle halkın içinde bulunduğu sıkıntılar gittikçe büyümüş, özellikle de besin maddesi bulunamaz olmuştu. Savaşta verilen kayıplar ve askerlerin isteksizce savaşmaya zorlanmış olması halkın Çar’ı devirerek yönetime katılma isteğini yoğunlaştırmıştı. Sürgünde bulunan Lenin’in önderliğinde gerçekleşen Sovyet Devrimi (Ekim Devrimi adıyla da bilinir) ile halkın direnişi diğer ülkelerce de görülmüştü. Sovyet Devrimi sebebiyle Rusya topraklarından başka ülkelere kaçmak zorunda kalan ailelerden biri olan Shuvalov Ailesi’nin İstanbul’a getirdikleri yenilikler Türkiye tarihinde önemli bir yere sahiptir. Bu çalışmada Sovyet Devrimi öncesi Çarlık Rusya’nın durumu ve devrim, Shuvalov Ailesi’nin yaşadıkları ve getirdikleri yenilikler incelenmiştir.In 1917, when Tsarist Russia entered the First World War, the problems of the people were growing, especially the nutrients. The losses in the war and the forced reluctance of the soldiers to fight were intensified by the people's desire to overthrow the Tsar and join the administration. The Soviet Revolution (also known as the October Revolution) led by Lenin, who was in exile, and the resistance of the people was seen by other countries. Because of the Soviet Revolution, one of the remaining families to flee to other countries from the territory of Russia, Shuvalov family's innovations they brought to Istanbul has an important place in the history of Turkey.
