It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Bu faktörlerden bir tanesi de ulaşım, daha spesifik olarak havayolu ulaşımıdır. Yani havayolu ulaşımının sağlandığı havalimanları, turizm için çok önemli bir yer tutmaktadır. Türkiye’nin en büyük turizm merkezlerinden biri olan Antalya, Antalya Havalimanı ile birlikte, bu bağlamda incelenmeye değer bir örnektir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, turizmi Türkiye’den Antalya’ya doğru daralan bir ölçekte incelemek ve Antalya Havalimanı’nın turizmi nasıl etkilediğine dair somut bir perspektif sunmaktır. Çalışmada devletin resmî verileri ve sözlü kaynaklar ile yapılan görüşmelerden kesitler kullanılarak, Antalya Havalimanının kurulduğu ve uluslararası uçuşlara açıldığı dönemlerdeki turizm istatistikleri yıl yıl incelenecektir. Havalimanında ağırlanan turist sayısı, Antalya’da konaklayan turist sayısı, bölgedeki turizm tesislerinin sayısı ve nitelikleri gibi verilerle birlikte Antalya Havalimanı’nın kuruluşu ve sonrasında Antalya turizminin bu durumdan nasıl etkilendiği gösterilecektir. Çalışmada öncelikle Türkiye ve Antalya turizmine genel bir bakış atılıp sonrasında ise Antalya Havalimanı’nın kurulduğu dönem ve uluslararası uçuşlara açıldığı dönem ayrı ayrı incelenerek Antalya Havalimanının turizme büyük etkileri olduğu, verilere dayandırılarak gösterilecektir.The tourism sector, which is one of the most important income sources of countries, can be affected by many factors. One of these factors is transportation, more specifically air transportation. In other words, the airports where transportation is provided have a very important place for tourism. Antalya, one of the biggest tourism centers of Turkey, together with Antalya Airport, is an example worth examining in this context. The aim of this study is to examine tourism on a narrowing scale from Turkey to Antalya and to present a concrete possibility of how Antalya Airport will have tourism. In the study, using the official data of the state and sections from the interviews with oral sources, tourism data will be examined year by year during the heating of Antalya Airport and the periods when it is opened to international flights. The number of tourists hosted at the airport, the number of tourists staying in Antalya, the number and density of tourism facilities in the region will be shown to affect these components of Antalya tourism during and after the establishment of Antalya Airport.
