It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.Includes bibliographical references (page 20).Karagümrük Spor Kulübü, İstanbul'un en eski semtlerinden biri olan Karagümrük'te cumhuriyetin ilk yıllarında kurulmuştur. Karagümrük semtinin gençleri futbolu kısa sürede benimsemiş ve takımlara ayrılarak maçlar yapmaya başlamışlardır. Bu büyük semtin temsilcisi olarak rakip takımlarda maç yapmayı doğru bulmayan gençler, Karagümrük Spor Kulübü altında birleşmişlerdir. Bu araştırmada Karagümrük Spor Kulübü ve bu kulübün önemli oyuncuları ile ilgili yazılan kitaplardan, mevcut kulüp başkanıyla yapılan sözlü görüşmeden, ilgili gazeteler ve internet sayfalarından yararlanılarak kulübün tarihçesinden, önemli oyuncularından ve olaylarından, kulübün kapanması ve yeniden açılması sürecinde yaşananlardan bahsedilmiştir. Karagümrük Spor Kulübü, gerek Türkiye'de futbolun sevilmesi ve gelişmesine ön ayak olması, gerekse Türk futboluna önemli oyuncular kazandırması sebebiyle Türk futbol tarihinde önemli bir yer tutmaktadır.Karagümrük Sports Club was founded in one of the oldest neighbourhood, Karagümrük, during the first years of republic. The youth of Karagümrük neighbourhood adopted football quickly and started to do matches by dividing into groups. The young who didn't find it right to do matches as opponents as the delegates of a great neighbourhood, decided to join among the Karagümrük Sports Club. In this research, the history of Karagümrük Sports Club, it's important players and events, and the happenings during the closure and reopening of the it were mentioned by making use of the books written about the Karagümrük Sports Club and the important players of this club, the interview with the current club president, and the relevant newspapers and websites.
