It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Ankara Viskisi'nin üretim dönemine ait mektuplar, gazete haberleri, viski tarihine dair makaleler ve ailenin bireyleriyle yapılan sözlü kaynaklar kullanılarak, Türkiye'nin içki kültüründeki evrimi ve Yazıcıoğlu Ailesi'nin bu evrimdeki rolü araştırılacaktır. Prof. Dr. Turgut Yazıcıoğlu'nun oğlu Ahmet Nuri Yazıcıoğlu’nun sağladığı özel bilgilerle Ankara Viskisi'nin üretim süreci ve ailenin bu süreçteki etkisi derinlemesine analiz edilecektir. Araştırmanın odak noktaları arasında, Ankara Viskisi'nin Türkiye içki endüstrisindeki konumunu anlama, viskinin piyasaya sürülme sürecini ve özelleştirmesini inceleme ve Yazıcıoğlu Ailesi'nin bu dönemi nasıl değerlendirdiğini anlama bulunmaktadır. Ankara Viskisi'nin üretim dönemine ait belgelerle birlikte çeşitli blog yazıları, makaleler ve Cumhuriyet gazetesinin çevrimiçi arşivlerinden elde edilen haber örnekleri, araştırmaya katkılar sunmaktadır. Prof. Dr. Turgut Yazıcıoğlu'nun kişisel arşivinden temin edilen mektuplar, Ankara Üniversitesi Ziraat Fakültesi Dekanlığı'na yazılmış teşekkür mektupları ve özel röportajlar, bu çalışmanın sağlam bir temele dayanmasını sağlamaktadır. Bu araştırma, Türkiye'nin içki endüstrisinin geçmişine derinlemesine bir bakış sunmayı amaçlamakta olup, Ankara Viskisi'nin oluşumu, gelişimi ve bitişi, viski kültürü ve Türkiye'nin içki endüstrisi hakkında daha geniş bir anlayışa katkıda bulunmaktadır.This research aims to evaluate the history of Ankara Viskisi, a significant milestone in Turkey's domestic alcoholic beverage industry, particularly from the perspective of the family of Prof. Dr. Turgut Yazıcıoğlu. Through letters from the production period of Ankara Viskisi, newspaper articles, articles on the history of spirits, and oral sources from family members, the evolution of Turkey's drinking culture and the role of the Yazıcıoğlu family in this evolution will be explored. With the private information provided by Prof. Dr. Turgut Yazıcıoğlu's son Ahmet Nuri Yazıcıoğlu, the production process of Ankara Viskisi and the family's influence during this process will be analyzed in-depth. The focal points of the research include understanding Ankara Raki's position in Turkey's alcoholic beverage industry, examining the spirits market process and privatization, and understanding how the Yazıcıoğlu family perceived this period. Documents from the production period of Ankara Viskisi, along with various blog posts, articles, and examples of news obtained from the online archives of Cumhuriyet newspaper, will contribute to the research. Letters obtained from Prof. Dr. Turgut Yazıcıoğlu's personal archive, thank-you letters written to the Ankara University Faculty of Agriculture Dean, and private interviews provide a solid foundation for this study.
