It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Eğitimi sürecinde ODTÜ olaylarına tanıklık ederek erken dönemde siyasetle tanışmış oldu. Mezun olduktan sonra Genelkurmay Başkanlığının sivil tercümanlığı gibi işlerde çalıştıktan sonra Havza Vidasan A.Ş’nin kuruculuğunu ve genel müdürlüğünü yaptı. Siyasete hayatına atılmaya karar veren İrfan Demiralp 18, 19 ve 20. dönemlerde Doğru Yol Partisi Samsun milletvekilliği yaptı. Kendisi aynı zamanda Avrupa Konseyi Parlamenter Meclisi toplantılarına katılıp birçok belgeye raportörlük yaptı. İrfan Demiralp 2000 yılında siyasetten emekli oldu ve hobilerine yöneldi. Bu araştırmada, İrfan Demiralp’in gençliği, okul yılları ve siyasi yaşantısı konu alınmıştır. Dönemin önemli siyasi olaylarının Demiralp’in bakış açısı ve deneyimleri çerçevesinde ele alınması hedeflenmiştir.Born on April 16, 1950, İrfan Demiralp completed his education at the Department of Sociology at METU. During his education, he witnessed the events of METU and became acquainted with politics at a young age. After graduating, he worked as a civil translator for the General Staff, and later became the founder and general manager of Havza Vidasan A.Ş. Deciding to enter politics, İrfan Demiralp served as Samsun deputy for the True Path Party in the 18th, 19th and 20th terms. He also attended the meetings of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and acted as a rapporteur on many documents. İrfan Demiralp retired from politics in 2000 and turned to his hobbies. In this research, the youth, education and political life of İrfan Demiralp are discussed.
