It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.Includes bibliographical references (pages 14-15).Ankara'da ikamet eden Işık Kansu, Cumhuriyet gazetesi için çalışan ve yaklaşık 45 yıllık gazetecilik tecrübesi olan bir gazeteci ve köşe yazarıdır. 1956'da Tokat'ın Turhal ilçesinde yazar, şair ve doktor olan Ceyhun Atuf Kansu'nun oğlu olarak dünyaya gelmiştir. Ankara Üniversitesi Siyasal Bilgiler Fakültesi Basın Yayın Yüksekokulu'nu 1978 yılında bitirmiştir. 1975'de Ankara Express gazetesiyle başlayan gazetecilik hayatına 1978'de şu an halen çalışmakta olduğu Cumhuriyet gazetesine girerek devam etmiştir. Gazetecilik dışında belgeseller hazırlamış ve oyunlar sergilemiştir. Şu anda Cumhuriyet gazetesinde yazarlık yapmaktadır.Işık Kansu, is a journalist and column writer with 45 years worth of experience, currently residing in Ankara and working for the Cumhuriyet newspaper. He was born in 1956, in the Turhal district of Tokat province as the son of Ceyhun Atuf Kansu; a poet, writer and doctor. He graduated from the School of Press and Broadcasting at Ankara University's Faculty of Political Sciences in 1978. He started working for the Ankara Express newspaper and then moved on to Cumhuriyet; the newspaper he still works at to this day. Aside from journalism, he has prepared documentaries and even written plays.
