It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.Includes bibliographical references (pages 17-19).1940 yılında Tunceli'de dünyaya gelen Kamer Genç, Türk siyasi tarihinin en önemli ve renkli isimlerinden biriydi. Asıl mesleği mali müşavirlik olmasına rağmen sonradan Danıştay'ın sınavını kazanarak Danıştay tetkik hâkimi oldu. Donanımlı biri olması nedeniyle 1980 darbesi sonrasında isminin Danışma Meclisi'ne önerilmesinin ardından üye olarak Anayasa yapım çalışmalarına katıldı. Ardından çok partili siyasi hayatın yeniden başlamasıyla birlikte siyasete atılmaya karar verdi. Siyasi hayatında 18, 19, 20, 21 ve 23. dönemler olmak üzere toplamda beş dönem boyunca hem çeşitli partiler bünyesinde hem de bağımsız şekilde Tunceli milletvekilliği yaptı. Milletvekilliğinin yanı sıra bir yasama dönemi boyunca da Meclis Başkanvekilliği görevini üstlendi. Siyasette sivri kişiliği ve inandığı değerleri korumak adına takındığı muhalif tavırlarıyla kimi zaman çevreden tepki çekmiş olsa da Türk siyasi tarihinde sürekli gündemde kalmayı başaran ve en sevilen isimlerden biri haline geldi. Renkli kişiliği ile Türk siyasetine birçok anı bırakan Kamer Genç, pankreas kanseri nedeniyle 2016'da vefat etti.Kamer Genç was born in 1940 in Tunceli. He was one of the most important persons with his colorful personality in Turkish politics. Although his actual job was certified public accountant, he was successful at state council's (Danıştay) exam and he became a examination judge. Because he was a very knowledgeable person, after 1980 military coup he was recommended to the advisory council and he started to working on a constitution establishments. Then due to the multiple party political system, he entered politics. In his political life he was assigned as a deputy in Turkish parliament. He was not only a deputy of political parties but also was an independent deputy in one period. In addition to his deputy duty, he was assigned as parliamentary deputy speaker in one legislative session. Even he got reactions because of his sharp personality and dissenting manner in order to defend the values he believed, he was always remained on the agenda.
