It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.Includes bibliographical references (pages 18-19).Fatma Feriha Öztürk, 1960-1980 Türkiye'sinin siyasi ve sosyal hayatında önemli birçok rol almış aktivist ve siyasetçidir. Bu makale, Fatma Feriha Öztürk'ün hayatını ve kendisiyle yapılan röportajda bahsettiği anılarını temel alarak bu dönemde siyasi ve sosyal alanlarda aktif bir kadın figür olmayı inceleyecektir. Türkiye'de zaman içinde gelişen ve değişen kadın algısına genel bir bakışla başlayan inceleme, Öztürk'ün çocukluğundan itibaren hayatı, izlenimleri, özel ve kamusal alandaki çalışmaları, görevleri ve başarıları ile devam edecektir. Cumhuriyet Halk Partisi'ndeki siyasal görevlerinin yanında, Türk Kadınlar Birliği ve kadınları desteklemeye dair olan çalışmaları ve düşüncelerine yer verilecektir.Fatma Feriha Öztürk, who played many important parts in the political and social life of 1960- 1980's Turkey, is an activist and a politician. This paper will focus on being an active woman in politics and social life based on Fatma Feriha Öztürk's life and her memories. Starting with an overview on development of the perception about women in Turkey, the paper will continue as it covers Öztürk's life from her childhood together with her general impressions and duties both as a politician and as an activist.
