It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Bu araştırmada Siyah Beyaz tarafından yayımlanan kitaplardan, daha öncesinde Faruk Sade ile yapılan söyleşilerden ve çalışma kapsamında Fulya Sade ile gerçekleştirilen röportajdan ve Siyah Beyaz hakkında yapılan gazete ve dergi haberlerinden yararlanılmıştır. Yapılan röportajlar ve incelenen dokümanlar kullanılarak galerinin kurulduğu dönemdeki siyasi durum, galerinin kuruluşu, sanat anlayışı, hitap ettiği ziyaretçi ve sanatçı kitlesi , Ankara’da sanatı ne şekilde yönlendirdiği anlatılmıştır. Siyah Beyaz, Türkiye’de özellikle de Ankara’da galericiliğin nasıl yaygınlaşmaya başladığını ve galerilerin Türkiye’de karşılaştığı zorlukları öğrenebilmek açısından oldukça önemlidir.Siyah Beyaz, founded by Faruk Sade, is a contemporary art gallery that maintains the level of quality and leads the Ankara’s view of art with the other galleries founded after them. The gallery suffered from economic difficulties because of the hardships of the time that its founded and the major economic support of it is the Siyah Beyaz Pub. The pub became the complementary part of the gallery. The published books by Siyah Beyaz, interviews with Faruk Sade that has been done before, magazine and news articles and interview with Fulya Sade have been used in this study. Examining the documents and the interviews, the political situation at the time that the gallery was founded, the establishment of the gallery, the way the gallery views the art, the visitors and the artist’s profile and how it leaded the art in Ankara were explained.
