It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.Indie Rock, 1980'lerde dünyada sanatsal özgürlüğü savunan bir müzik akımı olarak doğdu. Peyk ise Türkiye'de Indie Rock müziğinin özgün temsilcilerinden biri olarak, 1991 yılında İrfan Alış tarafından kuruldu ve kendine has tarzıyla bu türün Türkiye‟deki öncülerinden oldu. Grup, ticari kaygılardan uzak durarak müziğini toplumsal farkındalık yaratmak için bir araç haline getirdi. Sosyal eşitsizlik ve bireysel özgürlükler gibi temaları işlediği şarkılarında özgün bir müzikal tarz ve eleştirel bir dil kullandılar. Sosyal konuları eleştiren bakış açısını Hamiyet müzikali ile tiyatro sahnesine taşıyarak müzik ve tiyatroyu birleştiren Peyk, sanatsal kimliğini farklı bir boyuta taşımıştır. Toplumsal konulara olan duyarlılığı ile Türkiye'nin bağımsız müzik sahnesinde derin bir iz bırakmış, müziği ve duruşuyla Indie Rock kültürünün gelişmesine önayak olmuştur.Indie Rock was born in the 1980s as a music movement advocating artistic freedom around the world. Peyk, one of the original representatives of Indie Rock in Turkey, was founded in 1991 by İrfan Alış and became one of the pioneers of this genre in Turkey with its unique style. The band has turned its music into a tool to raise social awareness by avoiding commercial concerns. The band has used a unique musical style and a critical language in their songs that dealt with themes such as social inequality and individual freedoms. Peyk combined music and theater by bringing their perspective that criticizes social issues to the theater stage with Hamiyet musical and carried their artistic identity to a different dimension.
