It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.Includes bibliographical references (pages 18-19).Prof. Dr. Osman Altıntaş güzel sanatlar alanında iyi bir eğitim almış ve kendini geliştirmiş önemli bir eğitimci ve sanatçıdır. Sanat eğitiminin Türkiye'de yaygınlaştırılması ve geliştirilmesi için kurumsal alt yapı çalışmalarında bulunmuş ve çok sayıda değerli akademisyenin yetişmesinde önemli katkıları olmuştur. Kültürel alanın geliştirilip korunmasına öncülük etmiştir. Özellikle Telif Birlikleri ve Fikri Sınai Haklar Mahkemelerinin kuruluşlarının gerçekleştirilmesinde aktif rol almıştır. Cumhuriyet tarihinin en büyük sanat sahteciliği ve soygununu mercek altına alınmasını sağlamış ve sahteciliğin önlenmesinde önemli katkılar sunmuştur. Akademik olarak aktif bir şekilde çalışmalarını sürdürmüş, bu alan ile ilgili çok sayıda bölüm ve fakülte kuruluşunda bulunmuş, birden çok bölümün başkanlığını ve fakülte dekanlığını yapmıştır. Bunun yanında Türkiye'de sanat anlayışının toplumda yayılmasına ve kurumsallaşmasına ön ayak olmuş önemli isimlerden biridir.Professor Dr. Osman Altıntaş is an artist and an arts instructor who developed himself in the field of art and then has endeavored to fix the incompetence that existed in art and art teaching in Turkey. He raised lots of students who are future arts academicians. He contributed actively in the academic field and had positions like Dean of the Arts Faculty and head of the department of Art in several universities. Also he has founded several institutions for Copyright protection of works of art. He has worked in the biggest artwork fraud cases in Republic history of Turkey. He contributed to the establishment of intellectual and industrial rights courts. Osman Altintas devoted himself to contributing to the Art culture present in Turkey and founded Art institutions in universities specially for the unprivileged children who live in Blacksea Region.
