It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.Includes bibliographical references (pages 14-15).1960-1961 yıllarında sahnelenen “Coppelia”da Swanhilda rolünde gösterdiği üstün başarısı nedeniyle “Taşbebek Coppelia” olarak anılan ve Türkiye’nin ilk balerinlerinden olan Binay Okurer’in hayatı ve mesleki yaşamında edindiği tecrübelerden yola çıkılarak 1960’lı yıllardan günümüze Türkiye’de balenin gelişimi araştırılacaktır. Binay Okurer, baledeki başarısı ile Türkiye’yi yurt içinde ve yurt dışında başarılı bir şekilde temsil eden bir sanatçı ve genç kuşak balerinlerin yetiştirilmesinde önemli katkıları olan bir eğitmen olması nedeniyle araştırılmaya değer görülmüştür. Genel olarak, bu projenin Binay Okurer’in bale kariyeri üstüne bir araştırma olması hedeflenmektedir.The art of ballet’s progress will be examined by taking Binay Okurer’s -one of Turkey’s first ballerinas whose nickname is “Taşbebek Coppelia” due to her phenomenal success she showed with her role Swanhilda in Coppelia play that take the stage in 1960-1961, experiences that she acquired in her personal and professional life into account. Binay Okurer has found worth of research due to her success in representing Turkey national and international-wide and her contributions as an instructor in raising young ballerinas.
