It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Aile desteği, okul yaşantısı ve voleybolun sosyal bağlamı üzerine yoğunlaşan bu araştırma, Engin’in kariyerine nasıl adım attığını, karşılaştığı zorlukları ve bu zorluklar karşısındaki duruşunu ele alır. Ayrıca, dönemin Türkiye’sindeki voleybolun durumu, yabancı sporcularla karşılaştırmalı olarak değerlendirilir ve voleybolun Fatma Egemen Engin’in yaşamındaki etkileri analiz edilir. Röportaj verileri birincil kaynak olarak kullanılırken, akademik makaleler ve arşiv belgeleri de destekleyici materyaller arasında yer alır.This paper explores the life and career of Fatma Egemen Engin, one of Turkey’s first female national volleyball players, within the context of volleyball’s development in 1950s Turkey. It examines how family support, school life, and social environment influenced her journey into volleyball. Additionally, the study compares the state of volleyball in Turkey with that of other countries during the same period, highlighting Engin's resilience in the face of challenges.
