It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.Includes bibliographical references (pages 23-25).Yunanistan'da yaşamakta olan pek çok Türk olduğu gibi, birden fazla Türk köyü mevcuttur. Zamanla bu köylerde yaşayan Türkler, oluşturdukları azınlık ile, Batı Trakya Türkleri olarak adlandırılmıştır. 1939 ile 1986 yılları arasında Yunanistan Türk köylerinde yaşamış olan Batı Trakya Türkleri arasından Hacımehmetoğulları ve Rahim ailesi Yunanistan'daki hayatlarından ve Türkiye'ye göç etme süreçlerinden çeşitli kesitler sunarak yaşam tecrübelerini aktarmışlardır. Bu çalışmada, 1939 ile 1986 yılları arası baz alınarak, iki farklı ailenin göç süreçlerinde yaşadıkları çeşitli hikayeler, aileleri göçe iten sebepler, Türkiye'ye gelişlerinde Türkiye'nin sağladığı haklar ile Yunanistan'da kendi etnik kimliklerini ifade edebilmeleri, anavatan özlemleri, sosyal, ekonomik ve sosyokültürel açıdan incelenerek sunulmuştur.Just as there are many Turks living in Greece, there are more than one Turkish village.
