It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.Includes bibliographical references (page 12)Araştırmanın kapsamı Trabzon ilinin bir ilçesi olan Araklı’nın geçmişten günümüze sosyal tarihi üzerine olup, Sürmene’den ayrılarak 1953 tarihinde ilçe oluşundan günümüze Araklı’nın geçirdiği değişimler ve yaşadığı gelişmeler hakkında bilgiler verilecektir. İncelenen konular arasında Araklı ilçesinin geçmişe dayanan yerleşim tarihine yer vererek günümüzdeki etnik ve kültürel yapısı açıklanacaktır. Sonrasında ilçe oluşundan günümüze oluşturduğu nüfus, yaşadığı göç durumları ele alınacaktır. Bunların yanı sıra Araklı’nın başlıca geçim kaynakları, sanayi ve tarım fonksiyonlarının öneminden bahsedilecektir. Son olarak araştırmalarımız sonucunda ulaştığımız Araklı ilçesinin gelişimine katkı sağlayan önemli unsurlardan ve günümüzdeki Araklı’dan bahsedilecektir.The scope of our research is mostly on the social history of Araklı, a district of our Trabzon province, from past to present, and information will be given about the changes and developments that Araklı went through since he left Sürmene and became a district in 1953. Among the subjects we examined, the ethnic and cultural structure of the Araklı district will be explained by giving place to the settlement history based on the past. Afterwards, the population it has formed since the formation of the district and the migration situations it has experienced will be discussed. In addition to these, the main livelihoods of Arakli, the importance of industry and agriculture functions will be mentioned.
