It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.Includes bibliographical references (pages 16-17).Cumhuriyetin kurulması ile birlikte Türk toplumu ekonomik kalkınmaya yönelik politikalara başvurdu. Bu kalkınmalar doğrultusunda 1926 yılından itibaren şeker fabrikaları kuruldu. Alpullu Şeker Fabrikası’nın 1926 yılında kurulması ekonomik kalkınmanın ilk adımlarından biri oldu. Aynı yıl içerisinde Türkiye’nin ilk Türk şekerinin üretimini sağlayarak Türkiye şeker sanayisinin kuruluşuna öncü oldu. Alpullu Şeker Fabrikası’nın Türkiye’nin sadece ekonomik alanda kalkınmasında değil aynı zamanda çağdaş bir toplumsal oluşum örneği oluşturmasında da büyük bir rolü vardı. Bunun örneklerinden en önemlisi, bölgede “şirket şehri” kavramına benzer nitelikteki oluşumlardı. Ayrıca bu oluşumlar Avrupa ülkelerindeki ve Amerika Birleşik Devletleri’ndeki (ABD) şirket şehirleri ile benzerlik göstermekteydi.With the establishment of the Republic, Turkish society implemented policies targeted at economic development. Since 1926, sugar factories have been built in conformity with these advancements. The Alpullu Sugar Factory was founded in 1926 and was one of the initial stages in the country's economic development. During the same year, the factory produced Turkey's first Turkish sugar, laying the groundwork for the country's sugar industry. Not only did the Alpullu Sugar Factory play a significant part in Turkey's economic development, but it also served as a model for a contemporary social formation. The most important examples of this were the formations similar to the concept of “company town” in the region.
