It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.Includes bibliographical references (pages14).Denizli Sarayköy’de 1952 yılında ilk kurulan matbaa olan Yeni Matbaa, ilçede gündüzleri elektrik bulunmadığı dönemde pedalla baskı işlerini yapmış, sahibi Sarayköy Sesi adıyla gazete çıkarmış ve çevre ilçelerin gazetelerini de basmıştır. Zamanla gazete yayınından vazgeçen matbaa, teknolojisini geliştirerek sanayi için baskı işleri yaptığı Denizli’ye taşınmıştır. Bir ilçenin ilk matbaasının tarihi, ilçenin sosyo-ekonomik ve kültürel gelişim tarihini de yansıtmasının iyi bir örneğidir.The printing house named Yeni Matbaa that was settled up in Sarayköy, Denizli as a first printing house in the district at the year of 1952 did their printing jobs with pedals when there wasn’t electricity at daytime in the district. Also, the owner of that printing house established a newspaper named Sarayköy Sesi by his own and he also printed out the local newspapers of neighboring districts. As the time passes, the printing house gave up newspaper publishment and moved to Denizli where it did print jobs for industry by improving its technology.
