It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Araştırma öncelikle 1971 öncesi döneme Türkiye'deki toplum ve kültür açısından bakacak ve çizgi roman hikâyelerini etkileyen yansımaları incelenecektir. Araştırma aynı zamanda 1980 darbesi sonrasını da ele almakta ve sansürdeki artışı ve bunun çizgi roman sanatçılarının sanatsal ve editoryal özgürlüğü üzerindeki sonuçlarını açıklamaktadır. Bu kısıtlamaların çizgi roman ortamını nasıl yeniden şekillendirdiği, içerik ve okur dinamiklerini nasıl etkilediği değerlendirilmektedir. Son olarak, bu çizgi romanların kalıcı kültürel ve sosyal etkileri üzerine düşünmekte ve tarihsel rollerini toplumsal eleştiri ve sanatsal özgürlüğe ilişkin modern algılarla ilişkilendirmektedir.This research analyses the social and cultural reflections of Turkish comics during two important coup periods between 1971 and 1980 as a means of criticism and interpretation. The research firstly looks at the pre-1971 period in terms of society and culture in Turkey and analyses its reflections on comic book stories. The research also looks at the post-1980 coup and explains the increase in censorship and its consequences on the artistic and editorial freedom of comic book artists. It evaluates how these restrictions reshaped the comics medium and how they affected the dynamics of content and readership.
