It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.Includes bibliographical references (pages 14-15).Ahmed Adnan Saygun is known as one of the most influential and prominent composers of Turkey. Ahmed Adnan has collaborated with prominent composers such as Béla Bartók and Paul Hindemith which had a significant effect in developing the new Turkish classical music. Saygun’s interest in folk music began when he first met Béla Bartók. Bartók’s influence on Adnan’s work could not be overlooked. This paper will mostly focus on Ahmed Adnan’s early works and their political message as well as his collaboration with the prominent composer Béla Bartók.Ahmad Adnan Saygun Türkiye’nin en ünlü ve etkileyici bestecilerinden biri olarak bilinir. Béla Bartók ve Paul Hindemith gibi yeni klasik Türk müziğinin ortaya çıkmasında etkili olmuş önde gelen sanatçılarla da işbirliğinde bulundu.
