It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Zorunlu Nüfus Mübadelesi ise bunlardan belki de en bilineni, hafızalarda en çok yer edenidir. Mübadele süreci pek çok yerleşim yerini demografik, kültürel ve ekonomik açıdan kökünden değiştirmiştir. Yaylacık bu yerleşim yerlerinden sadece biridir. Buca’da bulunan Yaylacık mevkii çoğunluğu Selanik’teki Yaylacık köyünden buraya göçen mübadillerden oluşmaktadır. Günümüzde dahi bu göçün izleri Yaylacık’ta görülebilmekte ve Selanik’teki kültür Yaylacık’ta hâlen yaşamaktadır.From the 19th century to the mid-20th century, especially after the Ottoman loss of the Balkans, Anatolia and Balkans had faced massive amounts of migration. The Obligatory Population Exchange was probably the most famous one of these migration movements. Population Exchanges had affected demographic, cultural and economic aspects of many places. Yaylacık is one of these. Yaylacık where mostly immigrants from another Yaylacık in Thessaloniki live, is a town in Buca.
