It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.Includes bibliographical references (pages 17-19).GAP kapsamında Dicle Nehri üzerine yapılması planlanan Ilısu Barajı'nın planı 1954-1982 yılları arasında hazırlanmıştır. Barajın ana amaçları Türkiye'ye enerji sağlamak ve bulunduğu bölgenin sulama imkanlarını artırmaktır. Proje, 1988 yılında finans programına alınmasıyla gündeme gelmiş ve hem yerel halkın hem de aktivistlerin büyük tepkisini çekmiştir. Doğal ve kültürel mirası büyük ölçüde etkilemiş, uluslararası su paylaşımı konusunda sıkıntılar yaratmış ve yerel halkı göç etmeye zorlamış olan Ilısu Barajı'nın inşaatı 2018 yılında tamamlanmıştır.The plan of Ilısu Dam which is on the Tigris River and within the context of GAP was prepared in between 1954-1982. Providing electric energy to the Turkey as well as enhancing the irrigation of its location are the main objectives of the Ilısu Dam. In 1988, Ilısu Project became the part of the financial program and it drew massive attention from local people and activists around the world.
