It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.Includes bibliographical references (page 14).Feridun Öney 21 Nisan 1956 yılında İstanbul'da doğmuştur. Babası, Dr. Mehmet Cahit Öney, annesi Hatice Mediha Öney, ağabeyi Rıza Öney, kızı Remel Öney’dir. İlköğrenimini ve ortaöğrenimini İstanbul’da tamamlayan Feridun Öney, 1983 yılında İstanbul Teknik Üniversitesini Türk Sanat Müziği alanından bitirmiş, 1992 yılında da Türk Sanat Müziğinde sanatta yeterlilik ve yüksek lisansını tamamlamıştır. Satranca başladığı dönemde başta babası olmak üzere ailesi tarafından destek görmüştür.. Başta 1973’te kazandığı Avrupa Gençler grup üçüncülüğü, 1976 yılında şampiyon olduğu Türkiye Satranç Şampiyonası olmak üzere birçok başarıya imza atmıştır ve FM ünvanını kazanmıştır. Günümüzde federasyon başkan adayı olan Feridun Öney İstanbul Üniversitesi Konservatuar’da öğretim görevlisi olarak çalışmaktadır.Feridun Öney was born on April 21, 1956 in Istanbul. His father is Dr. Mehmet Cahit Öney, his mother is Hatice Mediha Öney, his brother is Rıza Öney, and his daughter is Remel Öney. Feridun Öney, who completed his primary and secondary education in Istanbul, graduated from Istanbul Technical University in the field of Turkish Art Music in 1983. In 1992, he completed his proficiency and master's degree in Turkish Art Music. He was supported by his father and his family when he started chess. He has many successes such as finishing the European Youth Championship in third place of his group, being champion in the Turkey Chess Championship and winning the FM title.
