It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. İhsan Doğramacı’nın da desteğiyle 1970 yılında Türkiye’nin ilk Biyofizik Enstitüsünü kuran, yayınlarının 20.000’i aşkın atıfının bulunduğu Prof. Dr. Erol Başar, beyin osilasyonları konusundaki çalışmaları, geliştirdiği analiz teknikleri ve özgün beyin kuramıyla bu konuda dünya öncülerinden ve otoritelerinden biri olarak kabul görmektedir. Bu araştırmada, Prof. Dr. Erol Başar’ın akademik hayatının yanı sıra eşinden ve çocuklarından elde edilen kişisel bilgiler ışığında, Prof Dr. Erol Başar’ın hayata karşı tutumu, çalışmaya olan inancı ve öğrencilerine duyduğu derin sevgi anlaşılmaktadır.Prof. Dr. Erol Başar has done important work in the field of neuroscience and is considered one of the pioneers of his field, especially in Turkey. Prof. Dr. Erol Başar received his bachelor's degree in Physics in 1965 from the University of Hamburg, in which pioneering names in physics such as Heisenberg and Weizsäcker were working as professors. and Prof. Dr. Erol Başar got his doctorate in Physiology in 1968 from the University of Hanover. With the support of Ihsan Doğramacı, Prof. Dr. Erol Başar whose publications have more than 20,000 references, founded Turkey's first Biophysical Institute in 1970. Dr. Erol Başar, with his work on brain oscillations, the analysis techniques he developed, and the original brain theory, is considered one of the few world pioneers and authorities on this subject.
