It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.Includes bibliographical references (pages 18-19).Kökenleri Hindistan'a dayanan ve Anadolu'nun çeşitli bölgelerine yayılmış olan Romanlar, 1930'lu yıllardan itibaren Ankara Kale Mahallesine yerleşmeye başlamışlardır. Romanların memleketlerinden göç etmelerinin başlıca nedeni ekonomik sıkıntılar ve göç ettikleri yerlerde fazla olan iş imkanlarıdır. Aynı dönemde, Ankara Kalesi ve çevresi ticari önemi ve ev kiralarının ucuz olması nedeniyle ülkenin çeşitli yerlerinden yoğun göç alan bir bölge olmuştur. Romanlar da ekonomik kaygılarla Ankara Kalesine yerleşmişler ve diğer Roman ailelerin öncüsü olmuşlardır. Bu şekilde kurulmaya başlayan Roman mahallesi, ilk Romanları takip eden diğer Roman ailelerin de Kaleye yerleşmeye başlamasıyla özgün bir mahalle haline gelmiştir. Romanların Ankara'ya ve sonrasında mahalleye yerleşim süreçlerinde, ekonomik, kültürel ve ailevi birçok değişim yaşanmıştır, bu değişimler mahallenin yapısına da yansımıştır.The Romani people, who have their origins in India and have spread across various parts of Anatolia, have migrated to the Kale District of Ankara as of 1930. The reason behind the immigration is economic concerns and potential job opportunities in the places that they have migrated. At the same era, the castle has been an area that has taken immigrants from various parts of the country due to its economic and merchantile importance and cheap rent expenses. Romani people have migrated to Ankara Castle due to economic reasons and led to other Romani families. The Romani neighborhood has started to be established with that way and became a unique neighborhood in Ankara Castle.
