It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.Includes bibliographical references (pages 17-18).Gülriz Sururi, 24 Temmuz 1929’da İstanbul’da doğdu. 1942 yılında İstanbul Şehir Tiyatrosu Çocuk Bölümü’nde ilk defa sahneye çıktı. İstanbul Belediye Konservatuarı’nda eğitim gördü. 1955’te profesyonel tiyatro kariyerine başlayan Sururi, 1960’ta Dormen Tiyatrosu’na geçti. 1961’de Engin Cezzar'la evlendi ve aynı yıl Gülriz Sururi-Engin Cezzar Tiyatrosu’nu kurdular. 1975 yılında eşiyle birlikte tiyatroya ara verip dört yıllık aradan sonra eşiyle birlikte tiyatro sahnelerine geri döndü. 1990 yılında kurdukları tiyatro kapandı. 1999’da son kez sahneye çıkan Sururi, tiyatro kariyeri boyunca birçok ödül aldı, Kültür Bakanlığı tarafından verilen "Devlet Sanatçısı" unvanına layık görüldü. Tiyatro dışında da eserler veren Sururi, yedi adet kitap yazdı. 28 Ocak 2017’ de eşi Engin Cezzar vefat etti. Gülriz Sururi ise 31 Aralık 2018’de hayata veda etti.Gülriz Sururi was born in 24 July 1929, in Istanbul. Gülriz Sururi made her first appearance in 1932 in İstanbul City Theater Children’s Department. She studied at İstanbul State Conservatory. Beginning her professional acting career in 1955, Sururi made it to Dormen Theater. In 1961, she married Engin Cezzar and the same year, they founded Gülriz Sururi-Engin Cezzar Theater. In 1975, Sururi took a break from the theater with Cezzar and after four years, they returned to acting. In 1990, the Gülriz Sururi-Engin Cezzar Theater was shut down. Sururi appeared on stage for the last time in 1999, she also won many awards during her acting career and was deemed "State Artist" by the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism. Sururi who had other works apart from her theater career, wrote seven books. She passed away in 31 December 2018.
