Arguably one of the most interesting and remarkable personalities of the Republic of Turkey’s history, Behice Boran and her life is decided to be the focusing point of the article. In the limited scope of an article, her life as a whole is covered rather than one specific part. Boran was born in 1910 in Bursa. During her studying days at Arnavutköy American College and Michigan University, she had an accomplished academic profile as a student, and then moved onto work as a sociologist at the Ankara University’s Faculty of Languages and History-Geography. As a supporter of a non-popular political ideology - sociology- in Turkey, she was one of the most successful representatives of the ideal and became the first female president of a political party. She suffered politically and personally from the 1971 and 1980 coups. Later she settled in foreign soil and spent the last days of her life there.28 pagesTurkishCreative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlikeSosyalizmAskeri darbelerDil ve Tarih-Coğrafya FakültesiSosyolojiTürkiye İşçi Partisiİlk kadınBehice Boran biyografisiStudent ProjectSPB3731
