It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Köyden kente göçlerde ulaşımı sağlamış, seyahatler sırasında kültürel bir etkileşim ortamı yaratmıştır. Zaman içinde demir yollarına gelen yenilikçi uygulamalarla demir yolunun Türkiye tarihindeki kültürel değeri artmıştır. Yemekli ve yataklı vagonların gelişi, sigara vagonlarının uygulamaya konuluşu, hızlı ve yüksek hızlı trene geçiş aşamaları... Hepsi Türkiye demir yolu kültürüne renk katan uygulamalar olmuştur. Bu raporda, İstanbul ve Ankara’yı birbirine bağlayan demir yolunun tarihi, bu demir yolu hattının beraberinde getirdiği sosyoekonomik gelişim ve bu gelişimin hattın yolcularına olan etkisi yer almaktadır. Araştırma, Ankara - İstanbul demir yolu yolculuğunun tarih içindeki gelişimini incelerken aynı zamanda tarihi bir kültür olan demir yolu yolculuğu kültürünü ele almaktadır. 20. yüzyılda uygulanan demir yolu politikları ve bu politikaların incelemeleri araştırma kapsamındadır. Haydarpaşa Hattı’nın tarihi, gelişimi ve Türkiye için değeri araştırma hedeflerine dahildir. Teknik bilgi ve incelemelerin yanı sıra zaman içerisinde demir yolu hattında ve vagon bazında yapılan yenilikler ile bu yeniliklerin yolcu gözündeki değerlendirmeleri de rapor içerisinde mevcuttur.The railway is a structure that affects the country economically, politically and militarily and creates its own culture among the people. It provided transportation in migrations from the village to the city, and created an environment of cultural interaction during travels. The cultural value of the railway in the history of Turkey has increased with the innovative applications that have been coming to the railways over time. The arrival of dining and sleeping wagons, the introduction of cigarette wagons, the transition to fast and high-speed trains... All of them shape Turkish railway culture. In this report, the history of the railway connecting Istanbul and Ankara, the socio-economic development brought by this railway line and the impact of this development on the passengers of the line are included. The research examines the historical development of the Ankara - Istanbul railway journey and the change in the socioeconomic status of the passengers over time, while also discussing the culture of railway travel, which is a historical culture. The railway policies implemented in the 20th century and the examinations of these policies are within the scope of the research. The history, the development and the value of the Haydarpaşa Line for Turkey are included in the research objectives.
