The Anatolian region, due to its geopolitical and strategic significance, has hosted numerous civilizations and states throughout history. The aim of this study is centered around Mehmet Kuşman, who, through his own efforts, acquired proficiency in the language of the Urartian state established in the vicinity of Lake Van among the various civilizations in Anatolia. His life and the narrative extending from his guardianship of Çavuştepe Castle to the acquisition of the Urartian language have garnered significant attention in the media, thus providing a compelling basis for our resarch. In this context, the life of Mehmet Kuşman and his language-learning process have been documented through an interview with his son, while information related to Çavuştepe Castle and its excavation has been presented through sources. The examination of his connection to these elements and the portrayal of his role in the media have been attempted in order to explained the broader narrative.17 pages.TurkishCreative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlikeÇavuştepe Kalesi bekçisiUrartu devletiMehmet KuşmanMedya ve akademik alandaki yansımaları ile Mehmet KuşmanStudent ProjectSPB4589
